Rheingau Wine Week Wiesbaden

Ten days - one wine region - over 100 stands - more than 1,000 different wines and sparkling wines - sensational historical ambience around Marktkirche, Schlossplatz and Dern'schen Gelände 2026 from August 14 to 23.

The world's largest Riesling tasting in the state capital of Wiesbaden can look back on a long history of success: the wine festival has been attracting thousands of visitors to Wiesbaden every August since 1976.

At its premiere, the Rheingau Wine Week presented wines and sparkling wines at 33 stands on Schlossplatz, Mauritiusplatz and in part of Wiesbaden's pedestrian zone. The wine week was a hit with the public: the very next year, the number of stands rose to 60 and it wasn't long before the "100 mark" was broken.

Since the early 1980s, when the Rheingau Wine Week was gradually expanded to include culinary offerings, the number of stands has stabilized at around 120. Their distribution along Wiesbaden's pedestrian zone has led to the wine week being affectionately referred to as the "longest wine bar in the world" .

Today, visitors can discover and experience the innovations of the Rheingau winegrowers at the stands on Schlossplatz, in the Dern'schen grounds and on the square in front of the Marktkirche. The combination of wine and music is unbeatable, and so there have always been musical interludes at the Rheingau Wine Week. Music is played on three stages (in front of Wiesbaden Town Hall, at the Marktkirche and on the Dern'schen grounds) - the Wine Week always comes up with something special and has remained true to its character as a cheerful and attractive event for all generations for over 40 years.
