Shooting star market 2026
From November 24 to December 23, 2026, the Schlossplatz around the Marktkirche will be transformed into the Wiesbaden Sternschnuppenmarkt. More than 100 retail and food stalls invite you to stroll, explore, and enjoy. Handcrafted arts and crafts, culinary specialties, a varied stage program, and the traditional children’s carousel are all part of the experience, as is the city nativity scene.
Your visit will be especially atmospheric in the evening: large illuminated lilies at the entrances and numerous other light installations throughout the city center echo the lilies on Wiesbaden’s city coat of arms and give the Sternschnuppenmarkt its unmistakable character.

The Poinsettia Tree at the Kurhaus
A visit to the Kurhaus is especially worthwhile during the Advent season. Every year, a very special Christmas tree stands in the foyer: More than 2,000 red poinsettias form this impressive tree and bathe the foyer in a festive red glow.
Standing about 8.5 meters tall, the poinsettia tree has been a staple of the Advent season at the Kurhaus for many years. Behind this magnificent display of plants lies an elaborate structure on which the individual poinsettias are arranged.

On approximately 2,500 square meters, you can skate laps on the ice or try your hand at curling against the festively lit backdrop of the Kurhaus.
Those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground can try their hand at curling. Winter-themed food and drinks provide a cozy break in between. Whether with family, friends, or as a group activity, Wiesbaden on Ice offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy winter right in the heart of the city.
