Volunteers guide locals through Wiesbaden

Greeters are volunteer, friendly faces for visitors to our city. In cultural exchange, the Greeter organizations create a mutually enriching opportunity for cultural exchange and establish connections between people.

Wiesbaden Kurhaus

The Wiesbaden Greeters will take you on a tour of the sights and insider tips in the "Nice of the North": You can get to know the magnificent Kurhaus, the hot bubbling healing springs, the golden domes of the Russian Orthodox chapel, Biebrich Palace with its park on the Rhine, the splendor of the historicist facades, a world-class museum, alternative cultural centers or a creative art scene. Be curious to see what Wiesbaden has to offer!

Three steps to personal leadership

  • Step one: Make a request
Send a request to find your personal greeter who will accompany you on an individual tour and show you around Wiesbaden.
  • Step two: Arrange a meeting point
Plan the meeting point and route together with your greeter to best suit your interests.
  • Step three: Discover the city
Enjoy your personal tour, hear exciting stories and discover hidden insider tips of the city with your Greeter.

About the concept

The concept of a "welcome visitor program" was implemented back in 1992 by the American Lynn Brooks and her Big Apple Greeters in New York City, the first greeter program of its kind. Nowadays, all over the world, including Wiesbaden since 2025, curious visitors to the city are brought together with committed residents. The Greeters are not trained city guides, but love their city and want to give other people a personal insight. They accompany you through the city - without payment or tips.
