Arts and crafts market
When selecting the 70 or so artisans, emphasis is placed on regionality, among other things to ensure the shortest possible journey. Sustainability also plays a role in the food and drink on offer at the 170 or so stalls: as already practiced at the Sternschnuppenmarkt, the vendors have committed to using reusable tableware or recyclable, biodegradable disposable tableware, among other things.
History
The Theatrium was launched in 1977 to mark the reopening of the renovated Hessisches Staatstheater. The following year, parts of Wilhelmstrasse were cordoned off for the first time - the event became the "Wilhelmstrasse Festival", which has developed into a real "classic" over the years. In 2025, it will be celebrated for the 46th time.
